Gameology: Commentary and Resources for the Game Studies Community

At the GamesLab we are interested in encouraging any students with potential interest in researching play, any elements relating to the constitution of digital games (e.g. scriptwriting, design, animation, sound etc.) or applications of gaming technologies (e.g. education, digital art, counselling etc.). In Europe a new generation of game researchers are slowly emerging, with Jesper Juul (IT University, Denmark) recently becoming one of the first people to gain a PhD in ‘computer games’. It is therefore our ambition to offer students in Waikato that same opportunity.
