Well "SJR",

There has been in incredible amount of MISINFORMATION published in the media and in online blogs here and elsewhere.

I have described nothing that I did not see in the game demo I played, nor drawn any conclusions that would not be obvious to anyone who played it.

Pacifist Christians and other groups are taking the game material out of context to support their own causes. There is NO “killing in the name of God” and NO “convert or die”. There are NO “negative portrayals of Muslims” and there are NO “points for killing”.

Yes, there are. I think you're confused on what you mean by "killing" or "portrayal", but if you had bothered to read my blog entry, you'd see that these are not the things I'm criticizing the game for. I'm much more concerned about its ethnocentrism, repressive attitude toward women, and (though I didn't mention it in my review) absurd creationist propaganda inserted between the levels. Not to mention the constant shilling for Christian music.

Thank you for taking the time to be a responsible blogger.

I assume you're being sarcastic, but before you presume to lecture me about how I should feel about your product, please take the time to actually read what I wrote. If you feel like having a conversation about my concerns (which I haven't seen anyone attempt to respond to), then go ahead.

The bottom line, though, is that it's a mediocre game with some controversial elements that has gotten way more attention than it deserves. Maybe lives are being changed by it -- I honestly doubt that, but I don't care. I worry that it promotes an outdated, incorrect, and dangerous worldview, but I realize the game is not going to change anybody's mind on its own.

No one can deny that Left Behind is meant to be controversial, so enjoy the attention.
